Here’s how the RK Easywork Selection Assistant can be used to generate fast and accurate results for bespoke workbenches:
This customer used the Online selection assistant, so we knew exactly what they required without the need for a site visit. This significantly reduced lead time.
They were contacted and informed that the bespoke workbenches would be designed and submitted along with costing for approval.
The brief contained two workbenches and two material feed trolleys. They needed lockable cabinets as well as a hinged arm for mounting of a HMI screen. The material feed trolleys needed to operate on wheels as their functionality required them to be wheeled behind the workbenches with the components on, ready for the operator to then assemble on the bench. They also needed shelving.
This design was to support the development of a brand new product, so the customer informed us that changes were likely once they had arrived on site. After a few weeks of use, some adjustments were required as predicted by the customer.
This involved an extra (tilted) shelf to be added to the workbench. Using our extensive range of aluminium extrusion (Blocan) products we were able to satisfy the customer needs in not only adding the extra shelf that needed to be tilted, but one that could also be raised, lowered and also moved backwards or forwards depending on where required. This allowed for full flexibility.
Additionally, the customer required the ‘packing bench’ to be fitted with some shelving to accommodate different sized cardboard boxes for ease of storage.
For both of the modifications the shelf and packing modules were pre-assembled and shipped for the customer to fit themselves.
